Beethoven’s 3rd (2000)
The Beethoven movies are apparently lucrative. The first film, Beethoven, was popular enough that a sequel, Beethoven’s 2nd, was quickly made for release the next year. Sure, the second one didn’t get very good reviews, but that never really stopped anyone before. It did seem to put off any more sequels for while, though; Beethoven’s 3rd came out 7 years after its predecessor. It was straight to DVD and had none of the original cast. But how do you tell the story of this particular dog, beloved by his family, if you don’t have that particular family? Why, you mail…

Beethoven’s 2nd (1993)
I’m back with more Beethoven movies! Yes, the franchise with fewer films than Air Bud and Air Buddies (14) continues on with its first sequel. I imagine this was made because the first Beethoven made back 8 times its budget, and money talks. As we get further into the franchise I’m going to start assuming that “a desire for money” is the main motivator behind ideas like “Beethoven, but The Prince and the Pauper” or “Beethoven, but with Christmas magic.” But those are future reviews; today we’re going to talk about the one with an attempted sexual assault and a…

Beethoven (1992)
Once upon a time, I found out that a friend of mine was a big fan of the movie Beethoven. You know, the one about the big, slobbery dog? Anyway it turns out it had more sequels than you would expect, so I bought him a DVD collection as a gift to him and punishment to everyone else at Movie Night. But then COVID hit and Movie Night disbanded for over a year. But once we started back up, the Beethoven movies were back on the menu! Until a few weeks ago when more COVID shenanigans started preventing us from…

The Suicide Squad (2021)
So my plan was to see The Suicide Squad in theaters. I had some friends lined up, we had the date all planned out, then a COVID scare dashed all our plans. This is the unfortunate world we live in, highlighted also in the fact that this fun movie is considered a box office bomb during its second week because a majority of people don’t feel safe in a theater yet. I’m not sure what movies are actually thriving right now, but maybe new metrics will be needed to judge movies during this post-pandemic pandemic. Where was I? Right, The…

Revolutionary Girl Utena – Season 1, Episodes 4-7
We’re back at it again with more episodes of Shōjo Kakumei Utena, AKA Revolutionary Girl Utena! Last time we met several of our main characters, primarily Utena Tenjou and Anthy Himemiya. We saw Utena duel for possession of Anthy, something Utena finds very problematic, but the Student Council doesn’t really agree as they want the revolutionary power that comes from being Anthy’s fiancé. It’s a weird show, but that’s the 90’s for you. So let’s dive right in and meet the rest of the Student Council!

Loki – Season 1, Episode 6
Starting this post off with a little PSA: We live in the age of immediate spoilers, and whether you like it or not, we sort of have to adjust to that. Back when Marvel Comics killed off Captain America, they infamously told news outlets before comic stores even opened to sell that particular comic. But don’t actively tag people in spoilers before you know that they’ve seen the media in question. As you can probably tell, I went into the season finale of Loki’s first season knowing that my theory from episode 5 was wrong. So let’s see how things…

Noobz (2012)
I am an asshole. Well, at least to one of my friends. We’ve known each other since middle school, and that level of continued friendship comes with it’s own little quirks; ours is giving each other just some of the worst presents. I get him things like a Trumpy Bear–oh yes, they’re real–and then he gets me a DVD copy of Noobz, a movie starring Mr. Jason Mewes from Clerks. I can’t say for certain that we’ve given each other equally awful gifts, but after finally sitting down and watching this movie, my next present to him will be something…

Loki – Season 1, Episode 5
Episodes of Arrow are taking another week off because I’ve been very busy, and not because I’ve actually been lazy and playing The Sims 4. Anyway, Loki summaries are still on track! We’re at the penultimate episode with what appears to be a massive reveal coming next week, but that doesn’t mean that this episode was lacking in things that happened. So let’s talk about this episode while I try my damnest to avoid going into detail about Kang the Conqueror!

Loki – Season 1, Episode 4
We’re now halfway through Loki, and the previous episodes have left us with several answers but even more questions. The fourth episode, “The Nexus Event,” is no exception to this, raising the stakes and introducing some characters I’ve been waiting for. So let’s not waste any more time!
