Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist (2005)
What’s a horror franchise without a prequel? Most of them, actually, but it sure seems like nowadays we have to spend at least an hour and a half explaining shit we either had already deduced through context clues, or were the source of much heated debates in the internet’s smelliest chatrooms. I just don’t see the need for this movie, you know? But here we are, seeing the origin of Father Lankester Merrin and how exorcizing Regan was actually… a… Wait a minute. Yadda yadda yadda, Paranormal Octoberty, what the hell is going on here?!

Exorcist: The Beginning (2004)
What’s a horror franchise without a prequel? Most of them, actually, but it sure seems like nowadays we have to spend at least an hour and a half explaining shit we either had already deduced through context clues, or were the source of much heated debates in the internet’s smelliest chatrooms. I just don’t see the need for this movie, you know? But here we are, seeing the origin of Father Lankester Merrin and how exorcizing Regan was actually a piece of cake. You know, up to the point where he died… OH YEAH RIGHT WELCOME BACK TO PARANORMAL OCTOBERTY!

X-Men ’97 – Season 1, Episode 10
Previously, on X-Men! How have I seriously done the entirety of X-Men ’97’s first season and never once made that joke? I’m slipping, y’all… Anyway, Magneto has doomed the Earth in retaliation for Genosha! An attempt to force him to undo his damage led to Wolverine having the adamantium ripped out of his body! Meanwhile, Bastion and Mister Sinister are a deadly duo the X-Men can’t seem to beat! Is this the end of the X-Men? No. What? Of course not. Why would you…? Anyway, let’s wrap up “Tolerance is Extinction” and the show’s first season. It’s a doozy.

X-Men ’97 – Season 1, Episode 9
The penultimate episode of X-Men ’97 is right smack dab in the middle of the three-part finale, “Tolerance is Extinction.” When last we left our merry band of mutants, Magneto had blanketed the world in an electromagnetic pulse with the aftermath yet to be seen. Things are only gonna get more intense from here, so let’s jump right in.

X-Men ’97 – Season 1, Episode 8
We’re in the final stretch now. Episodes 8 through 10 of X-Men ’97 are called “Tolerance is Extinction” parts one through three, a big and elaborate season finale. Will the X-Men triumph against Bastion and Mister Sinister? Possibly! Are there more surprises waiting for viewers? Yes. Oh my yes. And hey! Professor X is back in the opening credits! I bet he’ll show up at some point!

X-Men ’97 – Season 1, Episode 7
Episode 6–AKA “Lifedeath – Part 2”–was really wrapping up storylines set before episode 5 instead of being a direct follow-up. Well with that out of the way, it’s time to see how the X-Men respond to a genocide. Spoilers, but the answer is not well!

X-Men ’97 – Season 1, Episode 6
How we feelin’ after last episode? I for one am still a bit shaken, what with the major character death and large scale destruction! But on we must go with “Lifedeath – Part 2,” a sequel to episode 4’s “Lifedeath – Part 1.” It’s also an episode split in two, telling the story of what major characters are doing while a mutant nation burns. And for ease of reading, I’m just gonna separate the stories when summarizing them. Allons-y!

X-Men ’97 – Season 1, Episode 5
We’re finally here, the episode that changes it all. Let’s just jump right in–with a slightly different format–cause a lot happened.

X-Men ’97 – Season 1, Episode 2
If I want to catch up to X-Men ’97 before the final episodes, I gotta churn out these posts. So surprise! After months of radio silence, I’m aiming to cover 5 episodes this week! Let’s gooooooo! Dialing it back a bit, the second episode, “Mutant Liberation Begins,” features an adaptation of the trial of Magneto, a real turning point in X-Men comics. So let’s see whether Magneto can really lead the X-Men.

X-Men ’97 – Season 1, Episode 1
I’m not dead! Long story short I’ve started a new job and don’t have as much free time as I used to, and to be honest I didn’t fully gel with Andor as I had hoped. I do have the next 4 episodes of that sitting in my drafts and it will see the light of day, but I just don’t currently have the passion for Star Wars like I do for, say, X-Men. And speaking of X-Men, did you know that Disney+ has a new show called X-Men ’97? It’s a continuation of the X-Men animated series from the…
