Greetings and salutations! My name is Chwineka, and welcome to my blog! This is my little corner of the internet where I post my thoughts about movies, because oh holy shit do I have a lot of thoughts.
For over a decade now a group of friends and I have held a weekly movie night, sometimes referred to as “Bad Movie Night.” We meet up, watch 2 or 3 movies, and usually talk over them (thank you, Dr. Gary Subtitles or whoever for your contribution to cinema). Most of the time it’s taking the piss out of the movie reminiscent of MST3K, but even we have been known to shut the hell up when an actually engaging movie enters our lives.
The movies we watch… well they vary. Most of them are a wide range of genres and ages, but my personal preference is horror movies; I’ve seen every A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th, but also every Hellraiser (all 10) and Children of the Corn (8 in the main continuity and 2 in the reboot timeline). But we’ve also seen every Godzilla film (in English to spite a friend) and all the Step Up movies. Well, not the spin-off… yet. And at some point I’d personally like to get to the 20+ movies in the Air Bud Entertainment Cinematic Universe. Oh, and I hear they now have a Disney Channel TV show, too, so… we’ll see.
On top of all that, I am making it a personal goal to see more movies in theaters this year, ideally getting a theater subscription thing and going weekly. In theory this is going to broaden my horizons and force me to watch things I probably wouldn’t otherwise see.
So, yeah. I see a lot of movies normally, plan on seeing more than ever in 2020, and I have opinions. Hence, this blog. My goal is to post my thoughts on some of the films I see, a mix of in theater showings and whatever random crap we pull out for Movie Night. Hopefully you’ll join me on this journey!
